Sharon’s Spa Pergola: Shade, Privacy, and Everyday Comfort

Hot tubs are great until the weather decides otherwise. Too much sun, a surprise shower, or a cool breeze can shorten soak time. Sharon wanted the opposite. She wanted a spa she could walk to, switch on, and enjoy without checking the forecast first.
Enter a Caribbean motorised freestanding louvre roof aluminium pergola in a crisp white finish, set neatly over the spa pad and tied into a simple, low-maintenance garden.
What we built
-
Model: Caribbean motorised louvre pergola
-
Layout: Freestanding over the spa with clear walkways on all sides
-
Finish: White, powder-coated aluminium for a clean, modern look
-
Controls: Motorised roof with adjustable louvres
-
Drainage: Integrated channels that move water to the perimeter and off the slab
The pergola defines a calm zone around the hot tub without closing the space. From the lawn and garden edge it reads as a clean, architectural frame. Up close it feels like a room with sky for a ceiling.
Why this works for a spa
Sun when you want it, shade when you need it
Louvres tilt to bring in morning sun or shut to create deep shade on bright afternoons. On showery days the roof closes and the spa stays inviting.
Steam and ventilation
With the louvres slightly open, steam rises and drifts out instead of collecting overhead. That keeps the air comfortable and protects nearby finishes.
Wind and privacy, the simple way
The pergola sits inside an existing fence line, so the structure and boundary work together. The roof breaks the overhead breeze, while the fence keeps the space private. The result is a quiet nook that feels set apart from the rest of the yard.
Easy to live with
Powder-coated aluminium does not rust, the roof wipes clean, and the hidden gutters move rain away from the spa cover. There is no fabric to re-tension and no timber to repaint.
Small site, tidy planning
This backyard is efficient. A concrete pad carries the spa and pergola, a low planter bed softens the edge, and a straight path connects the gate, shed, and house. The pergola’s posts were positioned to keep those paths clear and to leave room to move around the tub safely. Services and controls are concealed so the space reads as calm and uncluttered.

Thinking about your own spa pergola
If your hot tub sits in full sun or you lose evenings to wind and drizzle, a motorised louvre pergola can change how often you use it. Share the size of your pad and where your paths and fences sit. We will suggest a Caribbean configuration that keeps the space open, protects the water, and looks like it belongs in your garden.
