Creating a Poolside Lounge Area at Gemma's Home

Gemma already had a fantastic pool area, complete with a large outdoor sofa and plenty of space to relax. The challenge was that the seating area sat on an exposed concrete pad with no overhead cover, making it difficult to enjoy during the hottest parts of the day.
To create a more comfortable place to sit by the pool, a 6 x 3 m Tasman motorised freestanding louvre roof was installed directly over the lounge area.
A dedicated outdoor room by the pool
Because the seating area sits away from the house, a freestanding design was the natural choice. The structure could be positioned exactly where shade was needed, creating a defined outdoor zone without affecting the rest of the pool area.
The generous 6 x 3 m footprint comfortably covers the large sectional sofa, allowing the entire lounge area to sit beneath the roof rather than just a portion of it.

Designed to suit the space
The dark frame complements both the outdoor furniture and the nearby building, helping the structure feel like a natural part of the overall pool setting.
With motorised louvres overhead, the amount of sun and shade can be adjusted throughout the day, making the space more comfortable whether it's a bright summer afternoon or a cooler evening by the pool.
The finished result
What was once an exposed seating area is now a dedicated poolside retreat. The lounge remains connected to the open feel of the backyard while offering a far more comfortable place to relax, entertain guests, or simply enjoy the view across the pool.
